Although I missed one because I ran to the store when everything was quiet! During the few minutes I was gone a lady walked in ready to deliver and the baby was breech! So I missed the breech birth!!
But all 9 babies were healthy and when I left tonight, all were tucked into a bed in the postpartum room.
I worked with lots of students today and an amazing nurse. 2 of the students are male, and they
don't seem shy at all around all this women stuff.
One of the moms I worked with yesterday, says she is going to ask for me when she comes back next week for her check up. I get so much joy connecting with these strong mamas.
I talked to the head of the nursing school and I get to start teaching on Mon I’ll be teaching 1.5 hours every day. He said he wishes I could stay 6 months so i could teach all his students 😊. As much as I love the birth room, these students are so anxious to learn and I’m going to love teaching and then putting into practice what they learned in the birth room. Then the next week I’ll start classes for the nurses too!
The first picture here is the birth room. They upgraded quite a bit since I was here last, with tile walls that are easy to wash and curtains that actually work to give a tiny bit of privacy.
When there was down time yesterday I organized and went through a bin of ambu bags and felt good to know those would be ready when needed.
