Coeur d’Alene Idaho was my next stop on my little trip. I found an inexpensive hotel but turned out to be pretty nice and I just enjoyed the evening relaxing. The next day I met with a student midwife who is trying to talk me into going to Iraq with her. 😬❤️🤪 She’s finishing up her midwifery schooling and should be licensed and certified by the end of June and is hoping to take a trip in the fall for a little scouting trip. We would have opportunity to teach the community midwives there. These midwives in Iraq have almost no training, so the need is great.
Right now her and I are both trying to prepare our class to teach "helping mother survive" and she is helping me with the PowerPoint. What a huge blessing since I’m not very good at learning
new computer things.
I have gone through Coeur d’Alene 100's of times, but I rarely go into the town. It reminded me of towns in Europe with the big tall modern apartment buildings. It's good to take time to stop and look as we go though our daily life.
I read a post recently about how on a poll it was found that the ages of 60-70 was the most productive years. It's certainly a different season in life after you are done raising kids, Productive, enjoyable, savoring, would be words to describe my life now. When raising a family you hardly have time to stop and enjoy. Now life is more a journey, waking up in the morning and accepting and/ or enjoying the walk God has for each day. I'm amazed and excited what He has for me. He has certainly changed me to fit into His plan. Teaching is not something I ever saw myself doing. But Every class I finish, I get excited because I actually did it. Like it's a surprise to me that it worked. People learned and enjoyed learning!
Since I can't travel very far from home right now because of due dates coming up, I'm going to savor this little trip to Idaho and after I'm done teaching, be a tourist as much as possible!
