I had that nice walk in the morning and just like those that live here, I went home in the afternoon. Ate a nice meal, worked on trip planning etc. About 5-6 pm just like the Mola people I felt like going out too! So I just started walking! Thankfully I was full, so I wasn't quite as tempted with all the goodies! Everywhere you look there are cookies half dipped in chocolate, or delicate rolled cookies filled with cream filling. Or fresh rolls and biscotti cookies, etc etc.
I just walked for quite a while enjoying people watching. I love how every evening the central area with the water fountain fills up with families visiting or men sitting on benches talking, laughing, children playing, or riding bikes. Unlike the rest of Italy, I barely see anyone smoking here. And I see way more children! Still most families only have one or 2, but there are a lot of young families here. I don't see a lot of people drinking alcohol either, although there is some, but mostly they are just hanging out talking, laughing, watching children play! It's a very family type atmosphere of relaxing each evening!
I then decided to go check out the restaurants on the ocean. I noticed that although they are beautiful they are often empty. I'm trying to figure out if they fill up around 8 pm or if they are just so slow. So I've walked by them several times.
I took another little road this time and I couldn't believe somehow I had missed this huge beautiful church building! I was so excited to see it there and they happened to be having a service, that I joined in on.
The amazing thing was this building looked almost exactly like the St Nicolos building in Bari. Like it was a replica.
