My first day here I helped with an immunization clinic and today a Elderly care clinic and then I got to go to the prison! It's so wonderful to take part in all this! The Elderly care clinic is for on going problems that need medication. They get their medications for about 70% off if they come to an educational class and come every month for their medication and check up etc. I took blood pressure and smiled a lot to the sweet ladies! As they introduced us they clapped for us! The prison was quite a different experience from American jails or prisons! For one thing they are guilty till proven innocent. So if someone accuses them of stealing they go to jail until the trial. Which is a 2-3 months. The women we visited with, most a had children. There were 13 women and 1 baby. The baby was 3 weeks old and if a mother is breastfeeding they leave it with the mom. We had a great service with the men and the women. The inmates led the music and it was lively! Then we went off with the women and painted their nails, while we visited. It was great to show love to those sweet women!
