Last leg of the journey!

This journey here is so long!!! I should just stay longer next time! 😊

Left the comfortable guest house about 8 am. Samaritain purse sends a driver for me. They hire these Kenyan men for drivers and it's their full time job taking volunteers to and from airports and hospitals. Samartian purse has many hospitals in the area, and volunteers come anywhere from 2 weeks to years. There is one family here that has been here for 11 years. Their children are very welcoming lovely people. Growing up in this culture can have it's benefits. Now they are moving back to USA.

My drivers names have always been great biblical names like Shadrach, Ensomos, etc. They all have families with young children. The one that drove me yesterday had inherited land and built a house.

This lady in the picture with me was my server at the guest house. She's a mom of a 1 year old and works all week. The first day I was there she was there at 7 am and didn't leave till 8 pm. Plus her travel! She told me the next day her son was so happy to see her he wanted to play till midnight! Such a hard working mom. ( I was in a rush and forgot my mask for the moment, but we are all wearing masks)

picture below: I thought it was amazing how in the middle of a Hwy, in traffic this lady can walk through the cars to sell her stuff.

The first picture is a bus type things you can take. They squeeze a lot of people in those. The second picture is the airport, and the plane was stuffed with people. 😳

This first picture is a VERY thick forest. Strange trees that I've never seen before! I would not want to get lost in there! But I can see why they would have that by the airport. Must be a great wind blocker!

I thought the yellow checker bus was interesting.

and that last picture you can see how small that airport is!

I went shopping for the whole month on the way up. Food prices are a little higher then home for the most part. But I wanted to buy meat, beans, pasta, oatmeal and cheese before I head up to the mountain. I found some Almond milk but it was $6 for a quart! Parmesan was very expensive so I'll go without, but it will hurt my Italian heart! 😊
