Leaving Castel Giorgio

I’m going to miss this little town. I was just starting to get to know the butcher! My wonderful morning quiet time in the beautiful church and my walk to the bakery to get a croissant filled with custard or pistachio cream.

But today’s a new adventure! Heading to Rome to meet my brave friends, joining me in this exciting adventure! I got my luggage down the 6 set of stairs and I'm walking to the bus stop to take me to the train.

So after I was waiting at the bus stop for quite a while and the bus never came. A nice young man came by and I figured since he was young he would know some English, but he said he knows "zero English" which means they probably don’t teach it in the schools in this small area because I haven’t found anybody that speaks English. With Google translate I got my point across and he called the bus people for me and found the bus doesn’t run until about 1 o’clock this afternoon which changes all my plans so I am waiting in my apartment again which is nice and warm and thought I’d show you some more pictures.

1 pm, the bus came and I got my ride to the train station. On to the train without problems. Off at the Rome station and then I had a 1 mile walk. Should be simple, even with luggage! Haha

But walking in Rome is an adventure in itself. The old stone or brick roads, the steep hills, not sure if your on the right road, and lots of cars and people. But I made it!
