My class is all certified in Helping babies breathe!!!

So today was the final evaluations for my first group of students. I had 2 helpers, thankfully, because we had to go through 3 evaluations each, one on one, for all 12 students.

I had them watch movies from Globel Health Media while we examined others. Those are very good videos for childbirth, breastfeeding etc.

All students passed with flying colors!!!

For my first round of teaching, I felt like it went well. I could use a little more organization, but the students said they really enjoyed the class and the principle of the school is wanting me to plan another trip to teach more! So I feel it was successful.

It amazes me how God can give someone a skill, knowledge or ability to do something that was not a natural part of our personality. I never thought I could teach, and yet here I am teaching!

After teaching and eating lunch (of my last lettuce salad for the duration of the trip, since I can't get lettuce here locally). I can have cabbage salads 😊. I went back up to the labor room, There was at the moment a lady fairly close to delivery, with the babies heart rate dangerously low. The Dr. was already there, so I assisted in a birth that was emergent and ended up with a tiny baby less then 5 lbs, all healthy. 1 hour later he was already breastfeeding and doing well!

Some clean up, some charting, some organizing of supplies, some frustration of the thermometer ending up in another ward 🥺🤪 some more heart tones on another mama, but this mama the heart tones were too fast. So I got that mom some water and made her chug it! 🥺. 15 min later, baby was back to normal range!!!

6 pm and off I was to home, where I made some spicy pasta without parmesan. That was a challenge that I feel I conquered!! I had brought some spice from home. Cooked lots of garlic, peppers, onions. Used some eggs in my pasta water and the pasta came out creamy and yummy!

So this is the finish of my 2nd week already and my time here is going way too fast!!
