My last day of teaching for this week

My last day of teaching for this week I had four students today. Two from the maternity ward and two from the nursery (or NICU). I think my favorite thing about teaching this week has been to hear the nurses saying what they want to see changed. 😊❤️ Helping them get updated practices, teaching them why these things have changed and how much better it could be following the updated guidelines. Instead of feeling criticized, I think they’re feeling empowered to make changes in the way that they do birth.

I realize changes might not come all at once, but little by little these very qualified nurses will start to change things. The students could be going to all different places in Kenya so the teaching will hopefully carry on.

They served us lunch again today and it was a yummy stew and rice. Also they gave us a soda pop in glass bottles!

At the end of each class I let them pick out a scrub shirt, they were having so much fun trying them on.
