We got up at 5:30 AM to meet our trusted driver George (George does safaris, but he also drives for Samaritain Purse) , picking us up at the hotel so we could be out in the national park early enough to see the lions wake up.
This van was really fun. We could stand up and take really nice clear pictures.
We were so close to these lions! These are all female we did see some males. One male we saw wake up and growled a few times. Then walk over for a snack on a dead animal.
Notice how inside the zebras ear it's still striped?
There were zebras everywhere, and it was very fun to watch them, wagging their tails.
This guy was so funny walking down the middle of the road. He walked right up to us and did some thing with his nostrils that showed us he was mad.
Rhinoceroses
You don't really get to see much of the hippopotamus during the day since they only come out of the water at night.
This is an Eland. It's a type of antelope.
We saw lots of birds, water Buffalo, vultures,
Ostriches, they are so cute!
What an amazing morning seeing all these beautiful animals in their own habitat!
With our trusty driver George, he made the day fun.
We stopped to get a coffee and then we were headed to the animal orphanage.
