Uganda is so beautiful too. I thought maybe it would be dry bleak place here, but instead it's so green and beautiful, with extremely beautiful people!!. A beautiful compound with lots of ministry work going on.
This Ministry has been around for about 15 years. They have a lot of ministry to children. Like a VBS every week in 4 different communities. Where they feed the kids a good healthy meal and teach them. They have a sponsorship program for about 350 kids, to make sure they have money to go to school. They said they started out with an orphanage, but quickly realized it's way better to keep the kids with a family member. So now they just help family members by covering their school costs, good meal every week, clothes, etc.
There is a weekly outreach to the prison each week, and visits to the elderly. They teach a method of farming where they can get more food, with less water.
There is a full walk in clinic and then the maternity clinic. Where they take care of pregnant moms, delivery, postpartum care and immunizations.
So it's a busy, beautiful ministry. Everyone that works here are Ugandans, the Dr's, nurses, amitdistraors, everyone I've seen so far are all Ugandan. So it brought a lot of jobs to the community too. Such wonderful friendly people too. There are 3 Ugandan midwives, Very skilled and well educated!
I fit in yesterday helping out, but not so sure where the "need" is. They are doing a great job here without us Americans! That's the way it should be! Helping the locals!
The first picture is my dorm house and the second is the Maternity ward and the last shows you how green it is here!
