So glad to be back at camp!

Hello from Glacier Park

Right now I’m sitting in one of the most beautiful places! It’s Many Glacier hotel. I used to help with a camp in Glacier: cooking, almost every year. For the last 2 yrs camp was closed because of covid issues. So we are all so happy to have camp again! I’m cooking for about 17 people all week. The menu is organized and the food already bought and some prepared. Which is good, because it’s a little ruff here. There is no electricity at camp, bunk beds and a separate bath house that only has water when the generator is running. The refrigeration is ice chests and an old freezer that runs when the generator is running. So it runs some of the time and sometimes it keeps it barely cold enough and other times it freezes the food! Haha! The challenge is so fun!

I always like to read on my kindle before going to sleep, but last night my kindle was attracting the moths. I think my cabin was full of them. I brought my bug zapper, thankfully and must have killed 20 moths. These aren’t little moths, but big one, more like butterfly size! Although they are not scary like a spider, they are very aggravating . I really dislike them flying into my head!

Here you can see my bunk bed, I get my own cabin! the next picture is the kitchen. It's not to bad for a camp kitchen! I've never seen a mushroom like that. It reminded me of something you see in a fairy tail

One afternoon they took the kids on a hike, and I asked to be dropped off at Many glacier lodge. I love the lodges! All the history. I like to picture what it was like back then with all their fancy dresses and balls taking place, visitors coming for a month with all their trunks. The muddy roads and the practicality of what it was like to build these places in 1920.

. I think the best thing about going to the lodges is just the time to sit around and do nothing but look at beauty. In a time where our phones keep us at work and connection all the time, it’s nice to disconnect and enjoy the beauty and history!

If you can't read that one picture it says rooms were $5 without a bath or $6-10 with a bath. This was 1920.

Lots of good food, hard work and lots of happy campers! I was so blessed to have the opportunity to serve here!
