We had such a great day Sunday !

After a restful morning, we headed to the hospital where I was going to teach a Helping Babies breathe course.

I wasn't actually prepared to teach, but we made it work! It reminded me again how much I love teaching and how excited I get passing on midwifery skills to the students !

After class we went to the colonial zone. I got to visit possibly the oldest church Dominican republic. It was built in 1550!! So beautiful!!

Then we met in this incredible restaurant! We decided to have a "table church" at this restaurant.

I've heard of this type of church mostly in relation to a method of having "church" in an area where regular church meetings are not allowed. (Like in Muslim countries). One of my roommates at my Airbnb has church this way every other Sunday. So we asked her to lead our group in a table church!

After a great time of visiting and eating amazing new foods, we began with going around the table hearing an appreciation of how God showed up this last week in each of our lives .

Then we each discussed a feeling we were having from the week and how we can support, pray or help each other. We waited on God to speak to us and minister!

It was so good and God did speak and comfort!

What a beautiful day God gave us here and such great friendships we are building!
