Tuesday

This was our last day at the hospital! We still had supplies to divide between this hospital and a couple other hospitals in some other areas.

We also still had plenty of blankets, baby supplies etc to give to mothers. We were actually hunting moms down. 😊

First thing in the morning I found a sweet family that mom and baby had been discharged and she and her family were waiting in the main entrance way in hospital where all the people going in and out are . She was wearing a very short little thin nightgown and my heart went out to her.

It was so fun to run upstairs and grab a robe, shoes, pads, diapers, a Bible. I also had a few grocery items that were extra and it was fun to bless someone who needed it.

Afterwards, Traci and I went and delivered a few packs, but the other students had beat us to them. 😊 They've had plenty of supplies to hand out and made sure every mom and baby had something to wear home. The hospital has a rule that a baby can't leave without clothes or a blanket. But they don't always have extra. They said sometimes staff has to run out and buy clothes so a mom and baby can leave the hospital. We also saw a nurse wrapping a baby in newspaper so they could leave.

The Haitians are the ussally the ones that have the lack. Of course the people in DR are not happy with having to support them, so they are not always treated the best. I imagine the hospitals on the boarder are the worst, especially now with all the conflict in Haiti.

These beautiful twins thankfully had provisions!
