3 births today! I walked in first thing in the morning to a birth happening! What a beautiful way to start the day walking into a beautiful mama having a nice natural birth!
The next lady seemed so close, but ended up not delivering to 2:30 pm, another beautiful birth. She came from a family of 10. So she had 5 sisters and they hung out and would pop in once in awhile. I was glad to see family support, yet it helped me to understand why we don't have the family support in the labor room too, since there is no privacy between beds. You can't just have anyone in there.
The next birth was one of those that will always give me that feeling, of knowing God is in control and had the right people at the right time. There was some concerning things in her labor so we were watching her close and reporting to the OB that is here volunteering for a month. Everything was fine, until it wasn't and we were getting FHT's in the 50's. Just to give you an idea of how bad that is, below 60 on a newborn we would be doing CPR.
It just happened that when we first discovered the FHT's being so low that both the OB and the Ashely the long term Dr here was right in the other room. I felt like that was the first miracle and they were amazing! They were able to deliver that baby quickly and safely! Our organization and cleaning from the other day paid off to be able to find things needed too, which made me happy! I loved watching the OB so calm know just what to do and did an amazing job of it! Baby was doing fine and although had a slow start, was going to be just fine! Of course then we went on to the next emergency because the mom had a hemorrhage and then I got to see another procedure I've read about but never witnessed. So it was a huge learning day for me and I still feel amazed how God had the right people there to take care of this mom and baby! I was so blessed and so thankful!!
This is my walk to the hospital each day! It's a lovely walk and the weather here is usually between 50 and 70 degrees. Very pleasant!
