I had no idea when I started planning this trip that there was any possible chance I would end up going to Uganda. I thought this trip was pretty straight forward. I was going back to the same hospital I went to last Sept. I already had gotten to know the Dr's and nurses. I was looking forward to teaching, classes to the nursing students. Maybe doing some updated classes for the nurses. I was bringing things with that I knew they needed. I knew what to expect as far as housing and traveling. I was so excited to help with births, for those beautiful, strong mama's again. It felt like a nice safe, all planned out trip! But....... I also love how when you tell God you want to be in His will and I don't want to go anywhere without Him, He might have different plans than that nice set up plan. .
So tonight I fly to Uganda, I'm excited to see what this place will be like, what I will be doing, who I will be meeting, how God is going to use this trip!
I've had a lovely time at this missionary guest house. Meeting all these missionaries that are in a far off land, with rough conditions! Some are short term, some are 2 years out and then one lady I've enjoyed visiting with has been in the same area over 25 years! One family took a year leave from their jobs in Canada and are teaching math in Sudan He contracted duegue Fever! He looked awful, but was on the mend. They had 3 children who were enjoying the adventure!
Meals have been great, but nothing very unusual for me to take pictures of. Today they served mangos for dessert at lunch along with chai of course at every meal. The Mango's are so flavorful. Nothing like what we have in America.
This is the receptionist at Mayfield. She's a beautiful woman with 3 children. Has 2 hours everyday to come to work! Tyler had accidentally bought these sprinkles and so when I was packing, I thought I might as well. bring them and give them away. Maureen and her kids will enjoy them!
